Next Chapter Thinking

When an old definition of success expires

3 min read

Definitions of success have a shelf life. The one that drove your thirties — the title, the scope, the proof — can quietly expire without telling you.

What got you here may not be enough for where you're going next. That isn't failure. It's information.

The difficulty is that an expired definition still runs in the background. You keep optimising for a version of success you've already outgrown.

The next chapter is best designed from values, not fear — from what matters now, rather than from the momentum of what once did.

Recognising the expiry date is the first honest step. Choosing what replaces it is the work worth doing slowly.

These reflections echo the conversations inside coaching.

If this resonated, a discovery call is a quiet place to begin.
